    Yes, occasionally off for short trips when starting off stocked and cold. Off where prohibited such as ferry travel.

    No, most refrigerators will keep your food cold for as much as four hrs. I rarely travel more then that in one shot. If I do travel further, I'll shop close to where I camp.
