Yes. The fridge will have the whole drive to the campsite to start the cool down process. Seems it takes about 8 hours to get our Dometic down to a “safe” temperature, either on electric or propane. This gives us a bit of a head start. We keep our food in an ice chest until the fridge is ready.
We store our trailer in a storage lot without electric. Otherwise we’d get the fridge cooled down on electric. Once I went out to the lot the evening before and started the fridge up to have it fully cool before departing in the morning. It’s just easier with the ice chest.
