    Opening under the hutch

    After two years I finally notice the opening under the middle of the hutch, beside letting cold air in from the basement is there a reason why it's not close off.The only thing I can think of it's a return for the furnace.

    It's the air return for the furnace. If the Basement doors are closed, there shouldn't be any cold air coming in, though.
