    Howdy from Colorado

    Hi all...
My name is Van and my much better half is Sheri.
We came upon this site after extensively researching the b'gezuz out of travel trailers for the last year and a half.
We have decided on purchasing a GD Imagine 2500RL.
Have never pulled a TT, but have pulled many flatbed trailers for work and play.
We're going to purchase our first unit in January after the onslaught of the holidays is over and I'm not totally broke.
Kids are grown and out of the house doing their own thing and making their own mark in life.
Just purchased my first big boy diesel truck to pull the unit.
We're pumped and excited for the next round of adventures that await us.
Hopefully I can chime in on subjects and be part of this community.

    Troutchsr,
Welcome and congrats on you decision to buy a 2500RL! I wouldn’t think that a big boy truck would have an issue with that trailer. Enjoy the adventures!!!

    Thank you Mark.
My wife is from MN and we go back there quite often to visit her parents. Been to Grand Marais and the idea of pulling a TT there sounds incredible.
    Thanks for the welcome!

Welcome to the site. Don't be surprised to find that you might need an anti-sway setup for your hitch. Your diesel, which I'm guessing is probably a 3/4 ton at the minimum, will have no trouble pulling the trailer. The only possible trouble spot will be due to the length of the 2500RL. That's a long tail and depending on side winds or passing semis you might feel the trailer trying to push the back end of your truck around. A anti-sway setup on the hitch will help with that moment if it bothers you at all.

Welcome. Colorado is a beautiful state. I just spent a year there in my Reflection 337 and feel sad to have left it. I'm sure you know the diesel truck will serve you well towing at altitude. Also, the Imagine you picked is short enough that it's not likely to give you the problems finding BLM boondocking spots that my rig would have. Have fun with it. Post pics. I already miss it out there.

...as we have found out, there is a slew of goodies and needed accessories, hoses, etc to kick this into overdrive. Like someone else mentioned on this forum, it really is a commitment, but something we both have wanted to do for a long time.
Starting off with a TT seems logical before possibly stepping up our game to a 5th wheel.
All I know is that it's gotta be fun.

Look under "Grand Design Group Campouts and Rallies". It is in Grandby, CO., in Aug. 2020.
