Ours is 20 miles away, gated, climate controlled and video security 14'x50' individual storage unit. Dump station and water available, we really like it a lot. It has greatly improved my backing skills, trying to stab a 40' trailer into a 14' slot with only about 50'-60' in front to line it up, it was tricky at first!! $4000 every 15 months or roughly $267 a month.

We got lucky and we were able to pick our covered spot. I’ve got a dead-straight back with 400 feet to line up if needed. I’m endlessly impressed with the other folks in the lot who manage to back huge trailers into spots at 90-degrees to the access lane. The spots are 12 feet wide and have a post on one side and usually another camper on the other. The access lane is maybe 60-ft wide.

When we built our home we included a concrete RV pad next to our 3rd garage stall with 30 amp service which we can use anytime but mainly use during the spring/summer/fall months. We helped to write the neighborhood development covenants allowing for this type of RV storage.

In the winter months, we move to long time family friend's indoor storage about 10 miles from our home of which we have been using for more than 30 years for our various boats and RVs owned during that time. He charges $40/month now.

What really surprised me and I had not thought about before was making sure both tires hit the 1.5"-2" lip at the door at the same time. If one side gets on the lip first, it really makes a difference at the top of a 13' tall trailer, it leans!! This first time I did that my DW started waving her arms like crazy because the trailer leaned so much at the top. We now make sure both sides get on the lip together

I am in an outdoor, gravel, gated, lighted, video security lot. 24 hour access. About 20 minutes from the house, but very easy access to major interstate.

They have the PVC poles separating the spaces, which I like a lot. I have had too much experience with sites where the neighbors (and it can start several sites down) start drifting over and forcing folks to park "over the line" (in quotes because there was never a line!). No facilities such as power, water, dumping, wash bay, etc.

    ~$85/month.

I have RV storage, 50 AMP service, water, dump station, on my property. A little challenge getting the new GD rig in and out, last Rig was an ALFA and only 30feet. New rig, 37feet. I remade the front gate, automated it and widened it three feet....

Ours is about 200 feet from the house with a pull through concrete pad, power and water. My avatar is our parking spot. I feel very lucky to be able to do this.

I so envy the folks that can park at their houses. Many years ago, I had an A-Frame pop-up that I kept in the garage. It was so nice to be able to plug-in, bring the fridge to temp and load it up the night before. Great to be able to wash and work on anything right there too.

Now depending on the direction I travel, I can lose 40 minutes (site is 20 minutes away, double that if trip is in opposite direction) in getting started.

We have become pretty efficient at packing the cooler and not messing with the fridge till we get on site. We also leave so much in the camper, we literally only bring a clothes suitcase(s), and use the clothes hamper to bring back clean linens/towels.

All that said; I do miss the days of having the camper right at the house. As 10sne1 said above; lucky dogs!
