Supporting bike rack off of bumper with a bolt on 2” receiver?
Manual says the bumper will support 150 lbs and plan to move the spare tire under the trailer. Does anyone have experience with this approach?

It'll do fine. Wouldn't want to tow a trailer with the hang on receiver, but a bike rack's just great.

Do a search - lots have asked this before. If two bikes and rack, figure about 90 lbs. Rack will have to extend out at least 2 feet, making the effective load on the bumper of 180 foot lbs. With them bouncing up and down, that's a lot of twisting force on the bumper, as opposed to something right on the bumper, like a tire. You might make it, but there are many, many other RV's that end up dragging their bikes/bumpers down the road. I've seen the result in many of the campgrounds I've stayed at. Way too near the limits for me. Get a real hitch welded on, or look at one of the over-the-tongue or pin box bike rack mounts instead.
Note that almost no bike rack itself is rated for RV use - you have to check the fine print in the manual of each model. Yakima makes one, Swagman makes a couple. But most of the ones of those brands, and every other brand, specifically say they are not for RV use. Same issue - not built to take the long moment arm pounding due to distance from the wheels that an RV subjects them to.2017 Imagine 2670MK

Google "rv bumper bike rack fail" and look at the images. 'Nuff said.

Did the Google search and I'll look for an alternative.

I tried bolting bike rack on our first camper; about half way to camp ground realized weld on bumper to frame was breaking loose. Spare tire sits directly on top whereas a bike extends out 18' to 24 " and along with weight of bikes and bouncing around going down road it will tear bumper from camper. I have seen people mount empty waste tank directly on top of bumper with no problems but they are standing vertical and sitting directly on top; very little bouncing around.

I cut my bumper off and mounted a 2” receiver to the frame. Seemed like the best answer to me. Built a fence post sewer hose holder that works very nicely.
IMO, Lippert would make a lot of money if they added sockets to the ends of the frame rails for a bike rack to attach securely.John & Kathy

Even with a proper receiver you have to be sure the bike rack is rv rated. We followed a Grand Design out of the Hemet Rally in October. Had bikes and rack bouncing away. As they went over some railroad tracks we watched the bikes bounce up and take out his back window. He was unaware and not very happy once we caught up and alerted him...
