Your best guess on how much weight your carry.

How much weight do you think you carry in your 5th Wheel. I can't imagine we've ever loaded anymore than a 1000 lbs in any of our RV's before...(just 2 of us). I guess it's the available weight the manufactures set between their empty and GVWR that seems so excessive. Who carries 2500-3000 lbs of....stuff?

This basically comes from having to have (not to exceed weights) for your Tow Vehicle. I don't know, but why put the trailers in the Diesel Truck Towing ratings when it's really not necessary.

Well, stufarmer..........I guess it can depend on a few factors. Are you a weekend camper? Do you full time (this is a big one)? How big is your rig? Do you camp or "glamp"? Is there anyone with special needs requiring special equipment? Pets? Dry camp or hook ups? etc, etc.

Needless to say, there can be many factors that can affect how much "stuff" one needs or wants to carry as well as what type of tow vehicle they might prefer.

    Just sayin...

I easily carry well over 2,500 lbs of "stuff", but being it is a toyhauler and 1,600 lbs is motorcylces, it adds up fast.

My old unit weighed 7450lbs empty, by scale. I loaded it and it weighed 8400lbs. So 1000lbs is easy to get too. I say my old unit because we are picking up a new Solitude 369RL in the morning.

I think it's pretty easy to get a ton of stuff if you have a wife. When I traveled alone I didn't have much stuff

LOL - we are just the opposite - my husband has to have a complete set of tools, air compressor, nine pairs of boots, 49 phones, tablets and other electronic gizmos (exaggeration, but you get the picture). I basically carry a change of undies :-)
