What to do with the tire sensors in winter?

I have the TST507 with the tire stem cap sensors. They work great on my rig, no booster needed. First trip with Reflection was 4000 miles across 10 states with only a couple of small water leaks from shower flexi hose connections in basement.

Do I leave the caps on all winter?
Will the cap sensor batteries die if left on all winter?
What if I just unscrew the caps until they are no longer under pressure, that would turn off the sensor and the batteries would last longer? (and leave myself a note for spring!)

I remove them and take the batteries out. I make sure I mark them so they can go back on the same wheel. In the spring I put in new batteries

I dont have TPMS on mine, but I imagine it doesnt hurt if you left them on. No one takes TPMS batteries out of the tires for "regular" vehicles during the winter and they do just fine. The batteries will typically last for years, so it should be ok.

I remove them and take the batteries out. I make sure I mark them so they can go back on the same wheel. In the spring I put in new batteries

I do the same exact thing....Mark them, remove them, remove batteries, and new ones go in when the camper comes out of hibernation in the spring time.

Was told that taking off saves the batteries. They aren't under pressure. My original batteries lasted about 1.5 years when I left on.....

The TST507 sensors shut off when you remove them, so the batteries last longer than if you left them installed. Part of my winterizing/dewinterizing routine is removing and installing the sensors.

Since mine is parked at home, I removed the security covers to make it simple to remove and install the sensors.

The transmitters in a vehicle TPMS are very, very low power when compared to a trailer TPMS. Vehicle receivers are often less than a foot from the sensors so hardly any power is needed to link. Batteries in vehicle sensors are larger too.

The batteries in the 507 sensors are about $6 each if you buy locally as you will likely do when getting ready to leave or are on the road, so removing the sensors during downtime could potentially pay you $24 every couple of years. Well worth 30 seconds effort twice a year.
