Dishwasher

As a fulltimers, the appliance we miss the most is the dishwasher. As I look into the possibility of adding one, it appears that the island isn't deep enough to put anything other than an 18" on the end of the island. I think that's the way the ones that have factor prep are set up. The biggest challenge I see in doing this on mine would be the necessity to relocate the heat vent on the end of the island. Has anyone done this or have thoughts about the feasibility? I have a Solitude 2930RL S-Class. Thanks - Rick

There are certain models with larger islands that are dishwasher prepped. The 2930 is not one of them.

Are you using the clothes washer compartment?

I haven't fully investigated that option, but was thinking of using the end of the island, opening toward the washer compartment.

I have a Reflection 337 with a similar problem. No dishwasher prep. Our plan is to buy an 18" Bosch, and have a custom cabinet maker replace the island with something that can include it and give us a bar with overhang for eating at. Then the kitchen table is going away and getting replaced with a bench with integrated shoe rack and a couple posts rising off of it for coats--I'll build that and attach it to the floor and ceiling.
