Lithium Battery Charger
I just purchased a Battle Born Battery to replace my OEM battery. If you have these types of batteries, how did you charge them the first time? Battle Born told me to charge them with a Lithium battery charger.

Check with Battle Born as they can not only help with information on chargers that are compatible with their batteries, but also if I recall sell chargers.. One I recall is Progressive Dynamics who sell stand alone and also units that will replace the OEM converter/chargers. I have a stand alone unit to charge my Battle Born batteries with a portable generator as a plan B to my solar system.

I should have read the owners manual of my RV Converter before posting my question.
I have a WF-9855 OEM converter and it appears the converter capable of charging the battery up to 14.4 VDC which in Battle Born is considered a full charge. I guess that is how I understand it.
I am attaching the page from owners manual.

I do not have an answer to how to charge the battery the first time. From my reading of Battleborn FAQs I recall that there was mention about making sure the batteries have a full charge if you are going to put them in series but you only have one battery.
Check out page five of this link. It will tell you how the WFCO 9800 converters work.
https://wfcoelectronics.com/wp-conte...Manual-web.pdf
Also if you search this forum for lithium batteries you will find good info.
Read the Battleborn FAQs
I have been looking at Battleborn batteries and here is what I have found out from way too much research.
Your WFCO converter most of the time only puts out 13.6 volts. This will only charge the Battleborn battery to around 70%. It will not hurt the battery but you will not get a full charge. Battleborn batteries have a charging voltage requirment of 14.4v and their web site recommends lithium converter that puts out 14.6 volts all the time, Progressive Dynamics PD9160ALV. See this page under the section “Present RV has a WFCO Floor Mount Series Converter/Charger.” https://www.progressivedyn.com/lithi...acement-units/ also https://battlebornbatteries.com/prog...tery-chargers/
Note that the lithium converter can not be used to charge a lead acid battery.
The only problems people had installing this converter is that the lithium converter has a plug and the wfco is hard wired.
Hope this helps.

I have not purchased lithium batteries, but I have been researching a lot.
HERE is a site to help choose a good converter.

Hey Ken, if we ever do manage to end up boondocking together you can just borrow a couple of my lithiums and see how you like them. Test drive them for a couple days going through your normal processes and see how they compare to what ya have now.

Thanks Ed.
With 2 AGM's I have about 100AH usable. I think I need at least 200 because of the residential frig. If someone would buy my almost new AGM's I would get 2 lithiums and 2 more later on, so I would have a good amount of storage.
My other thought was to have 2 battery banks. One lithium and one AGM.
