    Wiring in wheel wells

I was wondering where the assembly of units is done? Curious whose idea it is to run wiring to a slide out with no manual means of opening in the wheel well where it can be completely torn out with a tire going out on you. I mean this never happens to anyone but me? If there is a manual drive for my kitchen slide I would really love it if it could be pointed out to me.

If you mentioned your model or at least the type of slide one or more of the smart/ experienced people on this site might be able to help you.

Signature only shows on a desk top, kitchen slides can be schwintec or rack and pinion or hydraulic.

Sorry if you couldn’t tell, not a happy camper. Paid a mobile rv guy to come out and say the only thing I can do is to take the fridge door off to get everything that was in there out. Turkey don’t last long even in the fridge.

Not to mention the month it’s going to take to get an appointment to take it in and the three months it’s going to take to fix the body work and fix the slide wiring. There goes camping anymore this season!

On opposite side of RV, there should be a hole to put handle, supplied, into to manually crank the slides in and out.

From what I understand that is true for the brand on the dining side but but the brand on the kitchen side, swytek or something. At least that is what the “certified mobile rv service” guy told me. I know no fault of anyone on this forum and I apologize if I go trump on anyone. Stil does not explain why wiring for such an important part would be run where it can be and most likely will be in case of a tire blow out.

Did not know they used the Schwintek system on kitchen slide. Yep, you are hosed....you might be able to manually push the slide in and out...
