Toilet burping
The upstairs toilet in my Solitude 373 burps air (?) when flushing. The downstairs one doesn’t do this. Does this indicate a blocked vent on the upstairs black tank?

Could be blocked vent, could be caused by tank getting nearly full.

In addition to the above sometimes the vent pipe either gets installed too deep and you get the burps much faster. On our drv it was sitting on the bottom of the tank and had to be shortened.

Did you get this resolved? Ours just started doing the same thing. Worked fine for the first 8 days or so. Once I emptied the black tank for the first time the main bath toilet started burping. I don't think the vent pipe is too short or this would have started sooner (before I emptied the tank). The only thing I can think of is the bottom of the vent pipe got plugged some how. I'm going to empty the tanks again and flush them really good then run a snake down the vent from the roof.

I often wondered if you could just run some water down the vent rather than a snake. Let us know how it goes. I've had the burp issue a couple times over the years and it always cleared just by draining the tank but the last time this happened I didn't think our tank was really full so I also considered some minor blockage in the vent.

OK, I just drained the black tank again. I'm confident it's completely empty. Water runs clear. It's only the second time I've emptied it so there's no build up in the bottom. The main toilet still burps with no water in the tank! The toilet in the half bath doesn't burp and never has.
Time to go up on the roof and try to run a snake down through the vent pipe. I'm a little nervous about running water down the vent. I'm not confident the vent pipes are all sealed in the underbelly. I don't want to have water flowing in the belly.Brian & Kellie

OK, I just ran a "snake" down the vent pipe. The toilet still burps with empty tanks. Of course, I have no idea where this vent pipe actually goes. We have a front bath and a half bath. Probably two black tanks. I used the vent directly above the toilet that burps. The vent pipes on our Reflection were easily seen from the basement when you removed the rear basement panel but the main bath vent in our Solitude is behind a front basement wall (not rear). I'd have to remove the MORryde cargo box and that front wall to get access to the vent pipe for that toilet. Not too excited about doing that.
I'm really stumped. The toilet worked perfectly for the first eight days or so. The black tank capacity in this model is listed as 93 gallons. When I emptied the black tank for the first time, the tank level indicators showed 2 dots (1/3 full). There was no burping when it was 1/3 full (the fullest it's been). It only started burping when I emptied the tank.

Our toilet has always "burped" except when the ball seal was leaking or when the tank is so full that the contents are rising up the fill pipe. In fact, when it stops burping it means there are about two flushes left! The burping can be minimized by very slowly opening the flush ball valve.
There is a column of air sealed in the pipe below the ball valve. Even with the tank completely empty, there seems to be enough temperature/pressure difference between this and the ambient bathroom temperature/air pressure to push this trapped air upward when the ball valve is opened.
Brian . . . if you can solve this, there will be a lot of folks interested. I was thinking of a small pressure bleed line from just below the toilet flange the the nearby vent stack . . . but, haven't tried this yet.

Mystery solved!!!!!
It wasn't the vent or toilet drain pipe being too long. It was a "partial" plug of the toilet drain pipe. I stepped on the flush pedal and let it flow for 10-15 seconds and water started backing up in the toilet. Aha!!! I bought a plunger and plunged it. Water flows down the toilet and no burping now. I guess there was enough of a plug deep into the pipe to prevent the contents of the toilet from fully draining into the tank but not enough in between uses to plug the toilet completely.
Sooooo glad I didn't start tearing into the front basement wall.Brian & Kellie
