PEX clamp question...

Thanks to all that contributed to this post and educated me regarding PEX plumbing lines....very informative.

Fortunately I have had only one leak under the kitchen island that was easy to get to.

Check out PEXLOCK crimp fittings. Crimp with ordinary pliers, remove with a screwdriver. About as easy to use as sharkbite, but more durable since there is no o-ring to fail.
Not as common as some of the other clamps, but available at Amazon and Ace Hardware.

Just my 3- cents... We added Shower-Misers to our unit. I needed PEX stuff. Lowe's sell everything for PEX, but I couldn't see paying $70 for the pliers. I found a PEX cinching tool that came with an assortment of rings for just over $20. Now I found one less than that...

Always buy more than you think you'll need. I bought $125 worth of fittings just in case then took back about $80 worth. Lowe's sells tubing in 6 and 20 foot lengths. Final word: A die grinder with a cutoff wheel is perfect for cutting off PEX rings...

I use pex A it uses an expandable collar. You would need an expansion tool to use. This is what I use as it is easier, fits into tight spaces better, I have done hundreds of them and have never had a leak.
