    Cat litter recommendation?

What are you using for cat litter in your RV? We use the normal fine clay clumping stuff at home and have used it in the RV the few times we've taken the cats, but it gets tracked everywhere. We may have an extended trip coming up and it would be nice not to have to deal with the problem.

We use a wheat based litter (such as https://www.swheatscoop.com) and keep the litter box in the shower. Any litter the gets tracked outside the box is contained to the shower pan and is soft enough that it won't mar the fibreglass finish. A small amount can be washed down the drain because it dissolves in water. We leave the shower doors open just wide enough for the cat . . . which keeps the dogs out. Works well for us. . .

The search function is quite handy on the forum. Here's an entertaining read with cat litter at the center of the discussion:

New kitty so we are still working out the kinks. Our little Christmas tree is toast. Silly kitty. We also have black runners in the kitchen that show the tracked kitty litter well. But my kitty keeper is refusing to give up the clumping litter. So we vacuum often.

    Darth,

When we took our two cats “camping”, we took two 36” kennels with us. They fit side-by-side in our small Imagine, in front of stove and pantry. Unless we moved them outside (easily fit longways out the door), the doors stayed open. Smaller litter boxes fit in each one, and we lined the plastic, removable floors of the crates with a pee-pad. After using the box, they walked over the pad, leaving most of the tracked litter behind, in the crates. We used a combination of “Yesterday’s News” and “Cedarific” (about 3/4 cup each) and disposed of used litter a couple times per day.

We don't have a camping cat, but at home we use a 100% desiccant litter.

    Something like this....https://grocery.walmart.com/ip/Vibra...B&gclsrc=aw.ds

Doesn't seem to stick to cat paws nearly as much.

Thanks for the recommendations. I'm trying the crystals out at home in one of the two boxes to see if the cats will use it. I verified that the local pet store carries the swheatscoop brand too, which is my backup.

We use Worlds Best cat litter. It still tracks but we keep a carpet piece in front of box to help with that. It is lightweight too. In the 2670 we keep the box under the desk.

We don't have a cat on our camping tours, but at home I prefer Tidy Cats Lightweight, as it doesn't weigh a ton. It doesn't stick to the paws that much either.
