    Leaking ceiling vent 375RES

    Happy New Year folks!

The ceiling vent above our galley appears to be having a slight leak...not sure if it's condensation from using the rig in Sub zero Canadian winter or it's an actual leak

Has anyone else seen/heard of this?

We have the same model and have had 30 degree temps here with no problems. Can you determine the % of inside humidity?

    Hi Dick,

Not sure of the humidity, but I'm pretty certain that it it's the root cause. Pile of snow on the roof, below zero outside and 70 inside.

Also can observe the water droplets forming on the underside of the plastic vent window upon closer examination.

Both the galley and bathroom roof vents have this.

Sounds like condensation (we've seen it with really cold temps) - though an ice dam around the vent on the roof could also cause problems. A couple of ways to help avoid this would be to have vent covers on the vents like this one:

... and to use insulated vent cushions like these:

We've always used the vent cushions summer and winter and wouldn't be without them. In the winter, they keep the warmer, moist air from contact the colder surface on the underside of the vent.
