    RV Newbie’s Accessory Shopping List

If you are brand new to RV'ing and recently purchased an RV but have no idea what to buy as far as accessories go - here is a list of the gear that I buy for my RV's. This list isn't exhaustive and are just the things that I find useful for me. I've left off things like camp chairs, tools, BBQ's, kitchen items, etc. It's just a starting point!

You may not want or need these items or may find alternatives you like better. I'm just sharing this in case it helps new folks who have absolutely no idea where to start.

    Portable Air Compressor
If you have a slow leak while on the road, you need an air compressor! There are less expensive alternatives but this one works well.

Another important item is a pressure reducer for the water spigot. There are different kinds, you get what you pay for. The cheap ones are flow restrictors not really pressure reducers. I went with an actual pressure reducer that I keep in my water cabinet vice on the spigot. Click image for larger version.

Good addition to the list. I use this adjustable water pressure regulator:

I would add two more items; TPMS monitor and a Mopeka propane tank monitor that allows you to check your propane levels from your cell phone.

New to the site. As a matter of fact new to the 5th wheel world. Johnww suggested a TPMS monitor. Is he referring to installing it on the trailer or the truck?

I don't want to speak for Johnww but most folks want to monitor the pressure of their trailer tires. My first tow vehicle (a 2016 GMC) did not have the ability to monitor trailer tire pressures so I bought an after market system.
    https://tsttruck.com/shop/kits.html

My last truck (2019 F-350) had trailer tire pressure monitoring built into the dash (you did have to buy the trailer sensors and transmitter kit).

Either way, having a trailer tire pressure monitoring system is important. Failing that, check your tire pressures manually at least daily while traveling.

Yes, I should have been more specific. I definitely recommend a TPMS for the trailer tires.

Thanks for the responses on monitoring the trailer tires. As it turns out I have a system built into my truck. Am having the sensors installed as we "speak".

They do not. What do you need to power with an inverter?
You must understand that in using an inverter (to power 120v devices and plugs) you'll run your
battery down much faster (like in a few hours) so most people also buy additional batteries when installing an inverter.
Unless you meant an inverter generator, then that's a whole different animal.
Resistance is Not Futile, It's Voltage Divided by Current.
