    Filling up with propane

Complete newbie here so please forgive me. Recently purchased a 2020 GD Reflection 150 series 295RL. As it is freezing cold here in Central Oregon we have been using the propane heater on our frequent trips to outfit the rig. The RV comes with 2 30 gallon propane tanks . My question is on refilling the tanks. Is it feasible/easier to take the tanks out to take them to be refilled or do I need to take the RV to the propane store.

Love the RV and cannot wait for the weather to get warmer !!!

    Thank you

    Hello, and welcome!

You need only take the tanks to be filled. Try to find a place that fills by the gallon versus flat fee as it is usually less expensive that way.

Enjoy your new Reflection and happy camping!

It's way easier to just pull the tanks out. Takes ten seconds each. Plus, even if you take the RV to the place selling propane, you will most likely need to remove the tanks to get them filled.

They are actually 30lb tanks, they hold about 7.5 gallons each. I've had the best luck as far as prices by bringing the tanks to a Uhaul facility that refills propane tanks. Best bet is to call places in your area that sell propane by the gallon and compare prices considering distance to get there.

Aside from U-haul, Tractor Supply is another national chain that has many locations with bulk filling at non-gouging prices.

And watch out for most gas stations/convenience stores - they generally charge by the tank size, and not how much they put in.

X2 on TSC. Have been using them for years as the lowest price in our location. Farmers are a large customer base for TSC in our area and in many other locations. You want and need to treat them fairly or you will be a has been.
