Propane Bottle Mounting Straps on 310GK
Does anyone else hate the propane mounting straps on the single bottle mounting on the Solitude 310GK and maybe other models? Whenever I change bottles, the cam over latch that holds the bottles in place are so flimsy that they bend. Very poor design. Tonight I removed my metal straps and I temporarily installed nylon ratchet straps, but I was wondering what others have done.

Trick is to insert a cotter pin puller through the cinch eye and push while you wiggle the tank.
I'll replace mine in time. Here's your source to get whatever style you like made to your specification:

I like the clampco products, thanks! The problem I have is the steel is so soft on the latches, that it bends before it closes. I finally got sick of them tonight and removed all of them. I installed some 1 inch nylon ratchet straps, but I need a different design to have the ratchet towards the outside of the bottle. I just ordered a couple of straps without hooks so I can make a loop. This should work pretty well.

Throw my hat into the ring of issues with these straps. In my case I can get the top band to close, ie. with some difficulty, but not the bottom. Thanks Geotex1 for the Clamco link.

I've had to remove and fill both tanks twice already. I see no problems whatsoever with the straps.

I have the same problem with the metal propane straps on my 2020 337RLS. First thing I did was bend the cam buckel. If I move the tank back and forth I can get it to work. The bottom straps on both tanks are loose and the top ones are mounted crooked making them very tight. Also that support plate the tanks sit on wobbles back and forth when the tank is not strapped down. I guess that is good since I have to move the tank back and forth to get the straps latched but it really needs more support. Something to add to the to do list. I bought a new trailer and was hoping that I would not have to work on it all the time. So far I have spent a lot of time fixing problems but overall think the trailer is great.

Mine are definitely too tight, I might try something else though and shorten the spacing on the two screws in the rear of the strap. This should allow a little more slack. Then I need to find one of the strap ends that broke off last night laying in the snow below the opening.

I don’t have trouble with mine. It does help to move the bottle around a bit if the clamps don’t close readily. Those that are having trouble should look at the alignment of the screws holding the straps in place. As someone mentioned previously if the straps are installed at a diagonal it could possibly shorten the span of the straps enough making closure difficult.
