    Leveling System Control Blinking

I picked up our Solitude 369RL from the dealer today after being there for a month or so for some small repairs. The did not turn off the battery disconnect and I had to have the dealer put a jump to it so I could get it raised up to hook/tow. I drove it the 1 1/2 hour home and checked the battery indicator, it shows 1/3 battery (two batteries installed).

My question is the Level Up control box continually shows a blinking for the right side. It never did this in the 6 months that I have owned it. I was able to do an auto- retract and get it retracted and was able to get the legs to extend so I could unhook. It was very cold here today and I just didn't have the time to investigate what the flashing light indicates. This is such a great forum, I thought I would run it past everyone here.

    Help Please?

    Dennis

I noticed in the level up system section in my GD Owner manual it states the system needs a properly charged battery system for it to function properly. I would try that and see if it fixes the problem.Hootie.

Makes sense to me that the low battery voltage is causing it. I am thinking about pulling both of the batteries and just charging them in my garage and leaving a trickle charge on them until spring. My last 5'er had a generator. I have a Honda portable but am not willing to leave it there running for a couple of hours unattended.

    Thanks for the input!

DennisK, you mentioned you got a Honda portable gen.what size do you have and what will it support your needs on the trailer or do you think a larger one would work better. Reason I am asking, is I did not get the Oman gen.on my 385th. Going to be getting a Honda before spring. I believe the Honda. Might be more economical and lot quieter, and not as heavy. Could be wrong have not had a Honda yet. But been doing my research on them. Thank you for your time, Hootie.

I have the 355TH 5th wheel RV, momentum. I had two issues in the beginning. One was a blow 10amp inline automotive fuse for the system. two was the battery. I have only on battery, so I took the battery home and charged it up on a trickle charger and I have not had a problem since. We also have the Onan 5500 generator that came with it. Well worth it. Used the Rv once during Thanksgiving week. We had a great time.

Hootie, I bought the EU-2000 I have not had a chance to see what it will do you but I didn't want anything bigger (heavier) that I could not load alone. If I need more power, I can simply purchase the companion and be able to run everything I need in the rig. I have used it once to power my air compressor and it is very quiet, and stats on the first pull.

I don't think a single EU-2000 will enable you to run a A/C unit, you'll need the second EU-2000 and parallel kit to run one A/C and you'll have some excess capacity for a few other things. It would be about what you'd have on a 30A site when running both generators. You probably should look at a minimum of 2 - 6V golf cart batteries...4 would be better if you want to do much dry camping depending on your power usage.
