    Possible Fix for microwave

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uHj4H9Fdxrc

My switches all tested fine. This video (toward the end) shows another problem that involves a worn housing.

Close inspection shows a ridge being worn where the door latches go into the switch housing. Freaking plastic!

Need a way to put in a thin metal shim and it would last a long time!

Going to order the switch housing and will report back. Thanks to Ed K. For finding this video!!

Seems to have worked. New Fridgedaire part was exact same. Noticed the switches fit snugger in new part. Total cost 44 bucks!

Not hard. Only removed top exhaust to gain access to fuse. 2 screws remove a small metal screen.

Only 1 screw lets you lift up and off the front panel.

Then 2 screws to let you remove the housing. Took me awhile to figure out how to remove switches from housing....turns out you need to bend a small plastic pin then it slides out. Will do pics later.

    Jim,
Thx for the video. Our Furrion was blowing the microwave glass fuse every time we shut the door. I replaced the glass fuse with one from home depot and ordered the plastic bracket from amazon. Did not take long to swap out bracket. Thanks for finding and posting that video.

Awesome. Glad another found it useful. Really didn't want to spend 400 bucks on new one. Congrats.

Ours with the same exact problem was replaced through the warranty. GD arranged for Furrion to send out a new one to the mobile repair service.
