Winegard antennae will not do 60 mph
Yep, that’s right. Forgot to lower it on walk around before leaving in the morning. Stopped down the highway and saw cable
And posts upright minus antenna. Can’t wait for what’s next. Just shake our heads and smile.Bob and Cheryl, Puka the doodle

Hi Bob. Been there and done that. Told dealer it was a senior moment , still cost me 350.00 dollars. I have 2 snap bands to remind me to check the antenna, one goes on the handle of the screen door and one goes on the steering wheel of the truck. Working for me so far.
As always, safe travels and good health.

It is a journey of learning and adventure. Everybody here likely has a few stories of lessons they've learned, some are just more reluctant to share them. I remember (and contributed to!) this great thread:

Hope you enjoy the process of finding an even-better antenna - you have an excuse now - and improving your departure checklist. Until the next time...Mark - 2018 Solitude 310GK - 2017 F-350 diesel SRW short box - Pullrite Superglide hitch

True dat! It won't hold up to a eucalyptus tree either We drove 140 miles on the last leg of a 3 week trip and it caught a tree less than a mile from home.

We left our up on the first outing with the 303. They make an interesting springy noise when caught by a tree branch.
The newer ones don't have to raise or lower, we have given thought to replacing ours. But after you destroy one antenna it seems you don't forget to look up.Marcy & Gary

We got our of sequence when getting ready to move Sunday. Mother Nature was putting the rain down sideways with 20 to 30+ mph winds. Luckily on my walk around I saw the antenna was still up. We had to reconnect the power cord to the pedicle and put the steps down to finish the job.
The new rule is; if the televator goes down, so does the satellite dish. KENBackpacker and tent camper all my life, including BSA as a kid and adult.

That's why I went to a dome antenna. I was leaving Lawrenceburg Speedway in Ohio--was just about to pull out on the road when a guy on a 4 wheeler rode up waving frantically, had my antenna across his handlebars. I appreciated the effort but there wasn't enough left to save. The dome has been great and no senior moments.
