    Change in length

    I’ve been prepping a buy of a 395M

Just noticed that the length is now showing 43’7”

Pretty sure a few weeks ago it was 42’6”

    Am I losing my mind?

Also looks like the grey and black tanks shrunk

I wonder why the dropped the black and grey tanks by 20 gallons and where that extra foot is.

Had me curious, so I did some checking on our 2019 351M. That length has changed on the website as well from 38'9" to 40'2". Despite the footnote stating that length is still "hitch to rear," I believe they changed to total length. My 351M has almost exactly 17" in front of the kingpin.

And I believe the waste tank sizes actually increased from 39-gallons each to 52. One thing that ticked my off big time after buying ours is the fact that they double counted the rear tank. 39-gallons added to gray capacity and 39-gallons added to black capacity - when it is only 1 shared tank for the rear bath (toilet and sink) and washer. So, if you get a 395 with the rear bath, you would add 1 more 52 gallon tank - but only for the back. Betting the brochure was counting that extra tank when it was still a 39. Make sense?

I was confused by the way they had the tank capacities listed, so on Monday I ask the sales guy I've been dealing with to verify the grey and black tank sizes with his factory rep (Lance).
What I was told is the waste tanks are all 52 gals. For the models that have a 1/2 bath they only use one tank for that, but have been splitting it on the spec (IE: 26gal grey, 26gal black = 52gal), then they were adding the 26 of each to the front grey/black tank capacities to reach the 78gal total each for grey and black. That's why the 351/381 was 78/78 and the 349/398 was 52/104. I guess now on the 351/381 they are considering the shared tank in the back as black in the specs.

LUXE gives an option for a 2nd black tank, wish GD did as well. We plan on doing a fair bit of boondocking and would like the extra capacity.

just to chime in on length, we bought our 351m a few months back and the dealer calls it a 2020 but it was built in june of 2019. GD's length IS from the pin box to the rear. It does not include the point of the cap forward of the pin. I know this cuz i learned the hard way. it sticks out of my 40' building by about 1'6" or so. So it is actually closer to 42' from the front cap tip to the rear; i forget the exact measurement. The tank numbers now seem to make sense now, sorta. I guess

I have a 381M on order, it looks like it grew 20" longer overnight
    It was 42' 9" long, now it's listed as 44' 5"
As already mentioned, it's most likely just a change in how their measuring it
It would actually be helpful to have both measurements, total overall length and hitch pin to back of trailer.

As for the 351 vs 381 length, the difference should be 4' if the only change is 11' vs 15' garage length

Looks like they changed the lengths back to the shorter numbers on the GD website! Also, I was told by GD that the waste tanks in my 2019 351M were all 39-gallon. I did a "live" estimate some time ago and found this to be true. I wish they were 52's as it seems the new ones have. I've attached the tank layout GD sent me as a reference, but, unfortunately, it does not give a tank size. Oddly, when I Google HT466 or Holding Tank 466, I get a bunch of hits showing 15-gallon!?

It's GD part number, not an industry part number. GD has their own system and there is no clear tie to manufacturer part numbers.
