Angry Norcold 1210 Refrigerator in 368RD not cooling

Purchased this Solitude in August 2014 and brought it home then had some medical problems so could not use it until we left Michigan for Florida on 11/28/2014 first night was 20 degrees and refer was cool I figured because it was cold out it wasn't cooling. anyhow we arrived in Florida and still not cooling with the temperature set to 9 freezer runs from 20 degrees to 40 degrees and frig part runs 40 degrees to 50 and 55 degrees so I need some help with this. we are living in the unit for at least 4 months so I can't tow it anywhere for repairs. I traded in a 2014 Solitude 305RL that we had for a year and had on the same spot here in Florida and the 305RL had the same refer and with the temperature set to 6 it worked just fine with outside temps in the high 80s temps now are in the 70s and this refer won't cool. Had a lot of stuff that had to be fixed on the 305RL took it to the dealer and bought this one, what a mistake. I'm very disappointed in this trailer lots of little things wrong some that I've fixed and a lot that aren't fixed and this is my SECOND Solitude and might be my last. sorry to say but for what I spent on the two units I expected a premium unit but I sure didn't get it won't be fooled again. They need to do something with QC and I need some help with this frige

Sorry to hear of your troubles. Are you operating the fridge on electric or propane? Have you tried contacting GD Customer Service...they could probably fix you up with a mobile tech.

We had what sounds like the same issue with the Norcold 1210 this summer. Was working fine and always had the setting down around 4 as it cooled so efficiently. Noticed the ice cubes taking longer to freeze and stuff felt warmer. Popped a thermometer in and things progressively warmed up. We were working an hour north of Jackson WY at the time and called a mobile tech. Very helpful and what ended up working was completely turning it off for 48 hours, restarting, and then had to repeat again. They call it "burping" the fridge. Luckily our boss had a fridge we could use for the week. Haven't had an issue since (knock on wood!)

Well, knocking on wood didn't work. Our Norcold 1210 has stopped cooling again. Unfortunately we are now in Kentucky working at Amazon and have no other fridge access, so we have the cooler loaded up while the refrigerator is turned off. Did you get any help from Grand design service department or is it a Norcold issue and we have to deal with them? Our rig is scheduled to go to Lazydays FL next month for some warranty work.

Yes I called Grand Design and Norcold and had a guy come out and he changed the thermistor and so far it seems to be working fine, but it has been cool out little warmer today and still working ok. According to the norcold manual there is an automatic backup you can try unplug the refer light / thermistor and the unit will go into backup mode and should cool

Hmm thanks for the quick reply. We had the thermistor replaced in August the first time this happened. Tomorrow afternoon will mark the 48 hour mark when we turn it back on and see what happens.

If you put it in bypass mode it should tell you if it is the thermistor again or the cooling unit
