12v group 24 deep cycle recommendations

Need to replace my 2 12v group 24 batteries. Weight is an issue so I want to stay with group 24 deep cycle 12v batteries. Although I’d love to have lithium ion phosphate batteries, I can’t justify the cost. I do dry camp a few times a year for 3 - 7 days at a time and use a generator when needed and allowed

Am looking for recommendations for these new batteries

    Thanks

Sams Club has good prices on Duracell deep cycle batteries. They are made in the USA by Deka. I run 2 group 31 in my boat and they have worked great. Other option may be 2 Trojan 6 volt golf cart batteries. Safe travels.

No matter how you go you need to buy them from someone that sells lots of batteries. Sometimes batteries sit on a shelf for a long time before being sold. You want the freshest battery you can buy.

If I was buying new FLAs I would just get a pair of GC2 6-volts from Sam's Club or Costco.

If you need to stick with G24's, Trojans are a true deep cycle battery. I was running dual G29's but switched to dual 6V golf cart batteries.

I second the dual 6V batteries from Costco or Sams. They last longer than 12V battery when deeply discharged.

I’ve been researching the interstate batteries at Costco, I’ve had a group 27 in my basement for three years doing backup sump duties, it seems to be doing well. Their group 24’s run 45lbs, 27’s are 50lbs and the 6V GC2 we are recommending is 58lbs each. If you can handle the extra 26lbs I’d go that way.
