Dang, even stock that F450 should be able to pull a mountain with 4.88 gears. Probably a little thirsty though. Have fun.

Finally brought the 351M home yesterday. Its unloaded and at empty weight. The truck pulled it with no issues or any difference from the old 5th wheel which is 3000# lighter...
Was having a hard time worrying about the tire speed ratings. Got close to the 75 point going down some slight grades, tried to keep it in the 70-72 range the entire pull.

Follow up on the towing of the 351M. Finally had to go to work in south carolina, so loaded everything into the Toyhauler and headed out. Up over the Smokies to Asheville, down towards Spartenburg and into Columbia. It was a hard pull. Most of the time just maintaining 60-65 was the rule of the day. So i was pretty much in the way the whole day, lol. Trying to keep the EGTs to less than 1100 sustained was hard on that run up to Asheville, but it made it.
