2019 F-150s with Max Trailer Towing
I'm not sure how specific I should be, but I went shopping in Charlotte, NC, for a new TV last weekend and found a dealer with 13 2019 F-150 EcoBoosts with the Max Trailer Towing package on the lot. They now have only 12!

Interesting, we bought our 2018 F150 3.5ECO a year ago after searching all over NC for the right truck and price. We also bought in Charlotte and also have a 2019 2500rl. We are like twins but a year older

Hmmm... Mom and Dad never mentioned anything about you!
Glad to know there are like minds around! We are newbies with little experience with an RV, but the F-150 surely seems to match the 2500RL perfectly.
My wife's family spent many summers at Holden Beach and at Oak Island, (when it was called Long Beach). You live in a wonderful area!David & Catherine

I’m curious what you guys think of the F150 with that package towing the 2500, I almost went that route. Couple questions, what size are your wheels and what load range are the tires?
Does max tow mean you got max payload package too?

Flip94ta, Our F150 ECO tows the 2500rl great, just as well as our previous TT which was about 1000 lbs lighter and a tad shorter. Plenty of power. Gas mileage towing not great, but about the same as other gas engines. Due to illness we have only been on one long trip so far, about 2000 miles round trip to the Keys. We had substantial cross winds a couple of times and towing was fine, just slowed down a bit to be safe.
Our wheels are 18 inch. We switched the Michelin Defender E rated tires from our 2013 ECO to the new ECO. Very stable ride. Will eventually go to Bilstein shocks as most stock shocks are not great.
Max tow and max payload are two different things. Our payload is 1780 which is ok for us, just 2 people. You need to check the actual door stickers for payload. The max payload is practically impossible to find on the lot. Most likely you would have to order it. I think you can get around 2400lb payload with it but, I think that is with 5.0 engine and 2wd. I think with heavy duty payload you get max towing but not the other way around. Many threads on this subject.
BTW the more options you add the less your payload.
Feel free to ask any other questions.2018 F150 Eco 4x4 XLT CC Max Tow Package

I agree with riven1950, the F-150 EcoBoost 3.5L does a great job with our 2500RL! The engine has amazing torque! We chose 18" wheels with "E" rated 275/65r18 Kumho tires. "Max Towing" does not include "Max Payload", but our 2019 F-150 has the FX 4WD package, which included heavier shocks and a 7000# GVWR package.

We bought the Ford F-150 Max Trailer Tow Package. Then we bought the 2020RB Imagine. So far the truck handles it great. Of, course we haven't even made our 1st trip yet except from the dealer to home and back (75 miles one way). But, so far so good!

No.....two different options. The F-150 with max payload package is a rare truck. The rear end makes all the difference. My 2016 F-150 has the Ford Max. Tow Package but does not have the Max. payload pkg.
The max tow package is the flat plug and round plug recepticles, the brake controller built in, the trailer back up assist, etc. and nothing to do with weight.Last edited by JCZhome; 02-02-2020 at 08:58 AM.
