Hello everyone,

Sign the papers Saturday after a year of research and study. Been wanting to get into a TT for a while now that I am on the glide path into retirement. Thinking local trips (New England) with the grandkids for a few years then snowbirding in the trailer with my wife after retirement is complete.

Hoping I am making the right decision. Worried that I bought too much trailer for my new Silverado 1500 (wanted to go about 6500 loaded weight on the trailer, but my wife wanted the additional room), I am rated to 9500. Sales guy of course says no problem


Excited nonetheless. I know I have a LOT to learn.

Welcome. I posted in your other thread comment that you should be OK. Fully loaded in the trailer your still 1500 # under the trucks rating. I always had a rule of not more than 80% of my trucks rating. You are within that even with that trailer slightly Overloaded. (Don't overload it!) Enjoy the time with the family in this great outdoors!! Sounds like you have some great plans.

Sub service. My first boss (when I was 14), and a family friend, retired from the Navy AND was in the Sub Service. I was in the Army 73-77.

Thank you very much. My wife and I are very excited. But not as excited as the grandchildren!

We had one goal when we bought our first camper many years ago, Make great memories for our children! In a few more years hopefully we can start making great memories for grandkids! You are lucky to be able to take them camping. They are even luckier!
