Just to add to the conversation, our 2970rl 2020 has a microwave vent. It does open on its own when we travel at times.

We looked at the 2019 model but I don't remember if it had one or not.

    Thank you!

I have a 2020 351M which I will picking up next month. Looks like it has a microwave/convection oven vent.

Our 2019 Solitude is vented. I think it was built in Feb/Mar of 2019.
It is also the convection & Microwave combo, which I assume those are all vented. The Microwave only may not be???

I think Grand Design "thought" that the vent for the convection & Microwave combo was not necessary in 2018's Solitude models. KEN

We have a microwave/convection combo and we don't have an outside vent in our 2017 Reflection fifth wheel.

Many of the Reflection did not come with a convection / microwave external vent. Almost all older Momentum's and Solitude did. KEN

Our 2020 2450RL Imagine has a vent to outside. When we had our pre delivery the fellow showed me how to snap each side shut on the outside vent. He said the reason I want to snap it shut is for dirt roads. The RV will get full of dust from a dirt road if you don't snap it shut. He said if we travel all paved roads no need to snap it shut. It is a scoop that will allow air and dirt into the vent passage.

The only other reason to snap closed is driving in the rain - spray will enter and possibly get into the walls.

When we were shopping around for a trailer, I remember thinking "Wow, they actually vent the Micro outside". It seems we were looking at the very first ones.....
Not sure I would like to use the convection with it vented internally, especially if I'm cooking.

I could not reach the vent outside without a ladder. I have never closed it or snapped it shut (Dealer never mentioned it). We just completed four days of continuous rain with some wind. No issues that I can see.
When I had the Microwave unit down to insulate it, I looked at the vent. It seems that a driving rain, or driving in the rain, could cause water to intrude. Theory at this point as it is unclear how much force it would take.

No matter what, I would want the vent to be there.
