AC in 100 degrees
Can anyone please tell us what to expect in the way of internal temperatures when outside is 100 degrees plus? Thanks

It all depends on the humidity. Here in Southern Arizona, we were able to maintain about 79-80 in 100 degree temps. Our humidity was about 15%. When were were in Houston and New Orleans this summer, the outside temp was near 100, but the inside temp would only get down to 82-83 during the heat of the day. The difference between 80 and 83 doesn't sound like much, but with high humidity, it made a world of difference in how uncomfortable it was.
We have a 337RLS with dual pane windows and one A/C. I'm sure if we installed the second AC, the temp would be much lower. One way we coped was to shut the AC vents in the bedroom and bath during the day. This kept the living room much cooler. As soon as the sun went down, we opened the vents in the bedroom, and it was comfortable to sleep when we went to bed. We also added a fan to keep the air moving which made it more comfortable. Finally, it made a huge difference if we left the blinds closed and put covers over the vents.

TusconJim is right. It depends on the humidity. Here in N.Texas the humidity can get up to 70 percent -- two AC units are a necessity. Our ACs are ducted and keep us very comfortable.
