    Blank tank flush relocation

Could you look to relocate were you put the main black tank flush connection in the storage compartment of at least the 350M? I not sure what the other compartment hookup areas look like, but on my 350M you have the black tank flush connection at the very top of the hookups. This is a problem area as water does drip from there as you are flushing the black tank and drips right down on top of the fresh water connection. This can cause cross-contamination with the fresh water system. I would like to have mine fixed as well, so that we don't inadvertently get sick from this.

You are flushing the black tank with fresh water, and there is an air break fitting in the line to stop the possibility of cross contamination if I am not mistaken.

Given the problems with potable water coming from the municipality here in Canada anyway, I think in my opinion, that the governing body has already deemed this a safe practice and a suitable way of plumbing.

Of course, you mileage may vary.

Granted there maybe check and balance to insure that cross contamination doesn't occure, but those check and balance can fail...then I have crap back flowing into my fresh water connection that goes to my faucets. I'll take a picture of the area when I get home to show how it is designed.

If an air gap fitting fails,, poop cannot run up hill. Nor can a non pressurized tank back flow up a line.

Just my 2 cents worth deflated to 1.5 Canadian.

Yeah, I don't see how the poop water is going to back up in the flush connection. Maybe if you let one hell of a fart in the crapper it would.

Guess we all clean our black tanks different. I just insure mine is clean before I leave, that means I close the black tank valve and let the tank full with water, so that it can break up the dirty water in the black tank. But I guess I'm wrong in thinking that the water can contanminate my fresh water system. I'm sorry for posting the "non-complaint" now

    Stephen,

Yes we all have different views on how "clean" your black tank needs to be. This wasn't picking on you in any sense.

The manual clearly states "only use black tank flusher with valves open" as you could possibly burst a line/tank. Again, there is a open gap between the air gap fitting and the inlet line so even if it did back up or fail, there is no direct connection between the inlet line and the flusher line.

It never hurts to voice a concern, as long as you take something away from it, then it's all good.

When flushing the black tank, close the valve, forget about it and go watch the movie RV starring Robin Williams. You will get a good laugh. Oh yes, don't forget to open the valve

Quick Note: Never use your fresh water hose to flush your black tank. just a good rule of thumb.
