What is the best fifth wheel hitch?

I have a 2018 gmc cc drw tow vehicle and a 295rl fifth wheel. We get a lot of chucking when we go down the road. We have a curt 20k slider hitch. I know that I don't need a slider hitch, but it came with the camper. I would like to upgrade to a better hitch, I am just wondering which one will give me the best ride.

The Reese Goosebox is increasingly popular. The Anderson Ultimate is popular. B&W makes a great hitch too.

I guess the Reese would be the one I would consider first.

I have the Andersen ultimate in a 2013 ram 3500 that pulls a 2018 311bhs. I noticed some chucking/porpoising going down the freeway. Wasn't too bad but noticeable. When I added the airbags to the rear of the truck, about 95% or it went away. Just sayin.

Has anyone tried a Blue Ox super ride. I know that I do not have a lot of pin weight because the truck only goes down about 1/4 inch when I put it on the truck. There is only 6" between the top of box and the bottom of the fifth wheel. I do not want a goose box hitch, have one a work and don't like it

From what my Brothers in law say, the pin box is the bigger solution to help with the chucking. The Lippert Flex Air is a popular one, but the other in law went with a Demco glide ride..

This may be a large of the problem. I think on these 1/2 ton towables they tend to run a smaller % pin weight. With a 10k GVWR I would want about 2k on the pin. You might try shifting some cargo toward the front and see what happens. At least that will be cheap.

We installed the MorRyde rubber pin box and it definitely helped.

As another said, I'd try do a better job at weight distribution first. Visit the scales in loaded for camping form and find out where you're at. Then adjust the distribution and give it a try. Also, what's the condition of your rear shocks? You might find your solution may be low cost!

It is definitely better when I put a lot of weight up front. I just thought that a rubber mounted hitch would take out the chucking

B&W is my choice ... American made ... plenty of up and back adjustment room ... No Spring loaded handle close and put in the pin no test pull needed... I have the Patriot 18K ... many other good ones out there ... later Frank
