    Gutter seam leaking

We just parked and leveled our (new to us) pre owned 315 RLTS, and noticed that the rain was leaking out of a spot where the gutters meet over our dining room slide. It looks like it’s been caulked.. we tried to remove that and put a new layer of silicone to seal the gap but today it’s still leaking down the side of the rig. It worries us, but there’s no sign of water damage.. I feel like you can tell it’s been an issue though as there’s water streaks down the slide when we opened it. Wondering if anyone has recommendations or solutions for this issue?

Ps: we bought privately and have no warranty & it’s a 2018 that’s hardly been used!

The trim has screws that have to screw into something on the other side. What happens, if there is a screw that misses, goes into air, then you will have a future leak. And that makes the wood rot, and then you get the trim separating from the coach.... Not good.....

Be sure to clean the area you are re sealing really well with denatured alchol, silicone won't stick to silicone to well. As noted above if you have a missing screw be sure to replace it first.

I have a 2020 337 and the gutter joints are just butt jointed together then they shot a blob of silicone sealer at it. To fix this I got on the roof and cleaned and recalked the joint. If you have done this and have a good seal and you still have a leak you need to check the caulking/seal between the top of the gutter and the roof fabric. If there are gaps in this seal water can get between the gutter and the roof fabric and run out from underneath the gutter and down the side of the trailer. Make sure you check this seal all the way up to the high point of the trailer since water can run a long way. You will need to be on the roof or have a tall ladder to inspect this seal. My leak down the side of the trailer started at the butt joint of the gutter but ran down the side of the trailer about eight feet down slope towards the back of the trailer. While you are checking seals you need to check and repair all the seals on the outside of the trailer. This includes roof, walls, doors and windows. Pay close attention to the front roof corners where the sidewall, roof fabric and front cap come together. Water leaks will destroy your trailer.

We havehad this problem with our Imagine and with our Solitude. Yes make sure there are no screws missing or the heads broken off, but if that is not the case, here is what I did to fix it. Removed the silicone at the gutter butt splice, clean it well, and make sure there is no silicone or dirt in the gutter, then used a 3-4 inch length piece of 2 inch wide eternabond roof tape and placed it evenly across the gutter splice. Like 2 inches on either side of the butt joint. Then used a flat blade screw driver to smooth out the tape in the bottom of the gutter and up the sides of the gutter to seal it tight across the butt joint.

Now this tape is extremely sticky hence the name eternbond. The gutter is very narrow and its a little difficult getting it down into the gutter evenly. To aid getting it down into the gutter I used a very skinny shaft screw driver with the tape loosely wrapped around it in a "U" shape, make sure the tape ends do not contact eachother or you will never get them back apart.

After doing this repair they never leaked again at the gutter splice.

It looks like there is screw holes but there’s no actual hole where a screw was ever inserted?...
