I'm looking for a relaxing place to stop while heading down to Daytona Bike Week in March. I've enjoyed COE sites and was wondering if anyone has camped at Petersburg COE campground on Strom Thurmand Lake west of Augusta, GA. In particular I'm wondering how well the trees are trimmed for a 13' 6" tall 36' 5th wheel, anyone have any experience here? In satellite photos the campground seems to have lots of trees but it's a big campground so I'm hoping they are trimmed well. I returned from a 6800 mile trailer trip in October and I stayed at too many federal and state campgrounds that needed trees trimmed at campsites and along campground roads, ugh. I think I should buy stock in Eternabond tape and lap sealant but I'd rather not need to use them again.
Lots of reviews comment on ant problems at this campground too but I'm only staying overnight.
Thanks for any input.
