Any of the 150 series I looked at a couple of years ago had factory pin weights at least 150 pounds over the brochure unit average weights. BTW, if you move to the 2500, why not get a gooseneck as your Dad already has one? Allows the use of the full box when the 2500 is sitting in the driveway.
Curious, new and empty the pin weight on mine was 20# heavier than the advertised spec and almost the same as the sheet. Full propane and battery were weighed. I've found most, even other RV makers run about 18% of loaded weight at the pin on 1/2 ton towables. Loading will affect that too.
