Break in period for new Disc Brakes?

I completed my conversion from electric drums to electric over hydraulic disc brakes this weekend. After bleeding the brakes I noticed there is some drag from the brake pads. I can rotate all the wheels by hand but there seems to be more drag than I expected.

Has anyone else noticed this? Does it free up after some brake in period?

    Thanks.

That is normal with disc brakes. The brake pads always make contact with the rotor causing a slight drag on the rotor/wheel. If the drag is so tight that the wheel will not rotate then you have a caliber problem.

It will also “loosen” up as the pads wear in.

There are no springs in disk brake systems so the pads don’t retract.
