2017 F250 pulling a 311BHS, 10-11 mpg. Counting the three times I have had to replace the steerage linkage damper, I would recommend a different tow vehicle.

Did you replace the steering damper due to the development of the death wobble?

If you are replacing the steering damper due to the development of the death wobble, check the front end alignment. The switch from leaf springs to coil springs on the front axle of the super duty's has caused and issue with a death wobble when you hit a bump in the right way. There is a service bulletin regarding this issue. The camber needs to be adjusted to the limit, but I do not remember if it is to the positive side or the negative side. I almost gave up on mine until they made the adjustment. Not a recall issue yet, but if you are under the 36K mile warranty, they will fix it for free. If they don't cover it, call the factory customer service hot line and complain. They will most likely cover all of it or most of it.

I average 10.1 when towing at 60. Towing at 65 reduces that to 9.3.

I drove an empty 2012 F350 DRW CC LB 6.7L SuperDuty from Boise, ID to Florida to pick up my 5th wheel. Got just shy of 18mpg on the way to FL, doing mostly 80mph or whatever the local speed limits allowed. This includes crossing the Rockies at 80mph(!). Towing the Solitude 344GK-R back to Boise, I got exactly half that mpg, but kept speed between 60-65mph. (The Boss won't "allow" me to drive faster while towing. She's probably right.)

Drove from Florida to Houston with a loaded truck , no trailer and consistently got 18 and 19 running about 75 mph. Picked up a 3000qb and went back to Florida about 70 mph and got 8 and 9 mph. In the past have checked Nd never better than 10-11.
