Configured for towing (see signature below) roughly 65 to 70mph, I average about 10.5 mpg. Wind seemed to be my biggest enemy, although I have not been in the mountains yet.
With a headwind I was as low as 8.3mpg,... tailwind was as good as 12.5mpg.
Once I disconnect and cruise on the highway in ideal conditions, it got as good as 19.5mpg.

With all of the variables; if I get there safely, I'm happy, and so are the diesel stations.

2019 303RLS pulled w/ a 2019 F350 6.2L 4.30 gears. Did about 2500 miles with that combo last summer & fall and averaged right at 8 mpg while holding about 63-65mph. Truck gets just under 14 at interstate speeds of 75mph.

I have a 2012 F-250 6.7 Diesel pulling a 303 and I average about 11. The wind is of course the greatest variable! I have gotten as low as 7 and as high as 14.

I'm right there with everyone else that has the similar combination.

2016 F0350 & 6.7L Diesel pulling a 303 and averaging 11-12 mpg dependent on terrain and wind. Highest was 12.75, flat terrain. Lowest was just above 9 mpg.

    When I owned a Thor Hurricane 34E MH V10 F53 chassis towing a 4K 2011 Dodge Dakota 4x4 I got between 6 and 7 MPG

Now driving a 2012 Ram 3500 diesel 4x4 and towing a 34 foot 5th wheel trailer I average 9 to 11 mpg depending on terrane.

F350 CCSB SRW 6.2 Gas Engine Reflection 285BHTS in tow. Average fuel economy is usually around 8.0-8.7 MPG. Sometimes I get as high as 9 to 9.4 MPG and as long as 7 depending on the terrain, traffic, and of course speed. Most of the time I budget around 8 MPG for fuel costs on the truck when budgeting the camping trip and at $3.00/gallon for gas. If it's cheaper, great. If not, I had most of the money to cover the bill.

Save fuel? Drive as infrequently as possible. You realistically can't use "save fuel" and "RV'ing" in the same sentence. Try to avoid truck stops as they are usually the highest prices.
