How to remove flush mount ceiling lights?

I have a 2018 337RLS and want to tap into an existing flush mount ceiling light in the bath to add an additional light. How does the existing flush mount light release ? It appears to be held in by some type of spring mount.

They are spring loaded so you should be able to if not grip the disc and pull it down, slip something between the light and the ceiling to accomplish it.

I can''t give specifics as to "how". But I'll just add, there's a reason they're called "mouse-trap" attachments. My husband found that out.
