230RL - storage above and behind the TV?

Has anyone with a 230rl come up with a secure way to store items above the TV in that open 'cubby'? There are no doors or even a net on it, so it just sits empty and I'm wondering what others have done?

Also, has anyone ventured into opening up the space behind the tv to see if it could be used for storage? I'm assuming that's all wasted space behind there.

How about putting a door on that open space. We did that in the bathroom on our 26RL. There was an open shelf there and that meant we couldn't really put anything there that could stay there. We added a door:

Great job! Did you build the door yourself? What wood/stain did you use?

We used poplar. And we had some walnut stain left over from some other project that matched well. We got the screen from Home Depot.

Regarding the stain, you'd have to get some sample stains to see what matches. We've found that there are like 3 or 4 different colors inside our rig (between the hutch, and other cabinets). So, depending on where we're adding things, we have to use different colors.

We also added a cabinet on the upper part of our hutch which just had a big open space. It's a darker color than the cabinet in the bathroom.
