Shelving or cubbies for Imagine 2800BH bedroom?

Hi all. We are about to purchase a 2800BH but are disappointed it does not have any kind of shelving or bedside table for things like phones or a CPAP. Has anyone routed out the side wall and built a cubby? Let me know if you have thoughts or ideas. Thanks!

Hi, and welcome. Just looked at the gallery photos for your model. Ours has a very inconvenient shelf under the bedside drawer (yours has two stacked drawers with little, if any shelf). I say inconvenient because you can’t open the drawer or the closet with your night stuff on the shelf (not even the phone).
Could you use an appropriately sized cutting board to set on the OPENED bottom drawer? You could affix “stops” on the bottom of the board to keep it from sliding off.
