    Removing The Hitch?

How difficult is it to remove the hitch from the truck in case you need the bed to move something? We have an Imagine TT and pull with a 2017 6ft bed Denali 3500. We talk about moving to a Reflection 5th wheel and then my wife asked what do we do with the hitch in the back of the truck when we need the whole bed to move our kid back and forth from college.

Depends on the hitch you buy/need. I have a B & W Companion 3300 for our 303RLS. Its in a Ford F350 with the puck system. The hitch is two parts, each weighs apprx 88lbs. It takes me about 3 minutes to pop in/out. That may also depend on your pysical ability to lift the two sections.

Like RobertS377 said, it depends on the hitch. . . . . We have an 18 Chevy 3500 LTZ SRW SB with the factory pucks using a Pullrite Super Glide Slider and it is a monster, it's every bit of 200#'s, I use a hoist in the garage to get it out if needed. . . .

Look at a 5er than you can convert to a Goosebox and a turnover ball in the bed.

You can mount a $99 electric hoist to your garage ceiling and lift the hitch with that then set it on a $20 furniture dolly and wheel the hitch to the corner of the garage. This is what I've done at our last two houses. Easy to install and no need to lift anything.

I have a 337rls and have a pullrite super lite hitch. It weighs 54 lbs. and it is a very quick and easy install and removal process. Pull rite has a video on it if you are interested.Good luck with your decision.

I just pick mine up in one hand and climb out of the truck.

I used to have a Reese Elite 12K 5th hitch. Not a slider. Used conventional rails in the bed of the truck. Undo 4 pins for the feet, and two pins for the head, and it came out in two pieces. Heavy, but very do-able for one person. Easier than moving the Grp 31 AGM batteries out of my boat!
