We used a pet safe wireless system with our Jack Russell's for years. Used it at home and took it with us in the trailer. You can adjust the radius and they learn to look for that first "beep" and stop. It does no keep other dogs or Kids away from your dog though.

We have used the wire "X" pens for years. They are 2 foot panels (8 panels long) and various heights. We have 24" and 30". Since the stairs are so high in our 310GK we run a 24" section under the stairs and slide, then have a ramp and can leave the door open during the day with nice weather. Most of the place with no spikes in the ground I have seen are for sprinklers. Most are not to deep.Click image for larger version.

This is what I am looking for. I looked up wire "X" pens. A few questions.
    1. It seems as though you have more than one 8 panel long pen. How are they connected?
    2. Do you have a gate?
    3. Is this lightweight?

yes we have more than one. We were using 4 pens as we had at one time 4 and 5 dogs. Now we are down to one 14 year old so plane to down size. At the moment we have 2 gates. You can take them apart and modify them as needed. I even cut a few sections down to 18" to fit under the stairs of an old trailer. I hook them together with bolt snaps (like on a leash). You can get them at any hardware store.

    Hi Neeley's!

We use three sets of fold up fencing to completely enclose the "patio" area of our site under the awning. Purchased on Amazon. Buy one that is short for along the curbside of the trailer, the use the taller sections to make the other 3 sides. You have to be able to work it behind the stairs then in front of the tires... We have 2 dogs - largest weighs 17 lbs - and they can lean against it and it doesn't buckle. We don't need to use stakes to hold it in place, just zigzag the sections. To attach the sections we use the black metal clasps that were included...or could buy similar at hardware store.

A few posts are nice for added stability, especially if the dog(s) jumps on the fencing. This style post is easy to use with some small bungies for attaching.
We use the same wire style pen but will have to up the height because the new dogs can jump much better and higher than the old boy. While parked in FL for the winter we connect 5 pens for a good sized dog run.
