Breakaway Switch to Connect or Re-connect?

Run away from that dealership and technician.

Never, ever pull the breakaway to use as a parking brake. That is what wheel chocks are for.

I have found when using a Pullrite hitch, it connects and disconnects easier when having the trailer a bit lower than where you would set it on other hitches.

I have used a SuoerGlide hitch since 2004 , never had an issue connecting on 3 different units owned.
Never use a Teflon plate, not needed, cause both units work together as one in use. Plus the super-glide hitch only has several thousand of an inch between locking Mechanism and kingpin.
Best advise watch your degree of angle when hooking up and always , always have a little pressure on hitch pad / kingpin when backing under, makes a world of difference. It will latch every time if done correctly. I always back into key pin where kingpin is slightly touching on the angle plate and it will squat ur truck a slight bit.
Plus chalk your camper wheels, When hitching, don’t use break away system, it will burn your brake magnets Eventually
