    So, with the locking pins & padlocks, couldn't someone with needle nose & a crescent wrench just whip these off?

    You betcha. It's why I still have the clips that came with the hitch instead of locks.

    I've never heard of it around here, is stealing fifth wheel hitches a thing in the USA? Or unlatching a hitch just to watch someone crash their trailer?

    On here is the first place I've heard of it.
    I live in flyover country and usually we're a little slow to catch onto new trends ..

    I've never heard of either one happening. Be tough to sell those hitches out of the trunk of your car. And no one has ever had the pin pulled on their hitch or otherwise messed with, or at least it's never been actually heard of by a reputable source. So far just Rv'ing legends.

    I tried contacting B&W and apparently they don't sell the locks anymore. They suggested I use the Master Lock 101 to lock while NOT in tow status only.
