The second gun also has red-n-tacky but has a grease needle and its used specifically for the U-joint on the Ram trucks and its special fitting, a little more difficult to get to and you need to use a rigid tube. You can still use the gun with the needle tip on regular grease fittings, you just have to place the needle right on top of the spring ball, hold pressure on it and pump. The smaller 3 oz gun has white lithium grease for use on like door hinges, tail gate, hood latch and general purpose.
Thanks for the info and congratulations on going full time. We are getting ready. My wife wants to wait till she turns 66 and 2 months, so Jan. 2022 is our date. KEN

My grease gun is manual, so less bulky. I just wrap it up and a good heavy-duty lawn and leaf bag and tuck it in a corner of the front compartment (on the opposite side from the batteries).

I don't carry my gun with me when I travel. Do it before I leave and when I come back. Of course, I'm a weekender, so no need to figure out how to carry it. But, if I was carrying it, I'd get Lock and Lube branded gun, they have a zerk on the gun so you can connect back to itself, one less thing to smear grease around (and, if you've never used it, you will LOVE their coupler!). I have 5 grease guns now and, like some others, buy it by the case. Tractors/farm equip goes through a LOT of grease. I have a Dewalt 20V gun and a few manuals. For travel, I'd never consider the powered gun, it's way overkill to hit the 10-15 zerks on the trailer. Just get a good manual gun, wrap it in plastic, and use a lot of gloves!

Don't overthink the problem. I carry mine double wrapped in a heavy weight trash bag with an oil absorbent sheet in the bottom of the primary bag. Many years and miles of travel, never had a problem.
