Dual pain windows should be standard along with a 200 watt solar panel. If the RV industry made it a standard and didn't overcharge the price would be minimal to the consumer. It doesn't matter if it's your home or vacation home it should be efficient.

We spent the past 18 months caravanning with our friends who also have a Reflection, but they have single-paned windows. We have noticed many times how much quieter it was in our Reflection (with dual-paned windows) after spending time in theirs. We usually camped in the spot next to them in all the campgrounds we visited together, so we had the same sources and levels of outside noise.

So I am fixing to pull the trigger on a 2021 397TH with DP windows and most of every option that I can. - the rear deck steps and patio chairs. I really don't see a need for them. I was surprised to find out that GD is now offering 8k axles with disk breaks and Cooper H-rated tires for the Momentum line as well as Solitude. I think those are great options and I have added them to my build sheet. If everything goes right I will order from Country Camper in VT. They came back with some real good pricing and 41k off MSRP. The reviews on Google come back very positive.

We ordered our 315 with dual pane windows. This is our fourth travel trailer, but the first with dual pane windows. We have been able to keep the inside of our trailer a cool 70 degrees despite Nor Cal's triple digit heat.

We love the dual pane windows in our Solitude! We don't have problems with condensation, and I know what can be really annoying with single pane windows.

We also recently had the outer pane break on one of the windows. Since it was dual pane, it wasn't a huge deal. It didn't look pretty, but we didn't have rain coming inside the rig. If we had single pane, this would have been an emergency. On the other hand, dealers and the factory don't stock dual pane replacements, so it's takes about 4 weeks to get the replacement.

I've heard dual panes can "fog up" over time, and that isn't easy to fix. We haven't had that problem, so [emoji1696].

Overall, we would want dual pane windows again, but it pretty much means you have to custom order your unit.

This is true with residential thermal pane windows, but, according to Grand Design, appears not to be the case with the insulated windows from Lippert that GD uses. Just a few days ago I watched a video from a couple who very recently toured the GD factory (Solitudes on the line). A GD product specialist was explaining that the Lippert windows don't have a gap between the panes but the panes are laminated with a layer of a low-transfer plastic material between, eliminating the gas-filled gap. So, no risk of fogging like with residential windows. This would make sense for RVs, but I just took a very bright LED light and examined one of my windows and I can't confirm or deny that claim.

I would have ordered a unit with them but we had a choice between that and camping this year due to factory build times, so we chose to camp this year...

Mine seem to have some space between the panes. When I tap on one side, it isn’t felt on the other side, as it would if they were laminated. I assume that “laminated” means similar to a car windshield (glass, laminate material, glass). Maybe they’ve changed the process since ours were produced.
