    Nah!

I plug my RV into a 50 amp 240 volt receptacle, the same exact receptacle that my electric stove at home uses.

And if you look at the breaker box in a 50 amp RV you will see that the main breaker is a Double pole 240 volt circuit breaker.

No, it is not. It’s just like household service.

Exactly. 50A service in an RV is basically exactly how you pull service into a house, and yes, it's call "220/240 volt" service. There IS 240 volt on a 50A RV line between the 2 "blades" (hot lines) in the service. The diagram given was good, there should be 240 between the blades and 120 between either blade and any other connection (the neutral or the ground). But it's 240 service you're looking for/want. The horror stories, I can only imagine someone miswired the plug, if you have 120V between the blades and 240 volt between the blade and ground or neutral, IT'S WRONG, don't plug in. Otherwise, you're fine, and it will work great. And yes, a Progressive EMS or something like it will check for this and prevent the power from flowing if someone incorrectly wired a hot line to a ground in the plug. NO competent electrician anywhere would ever make this error, or, if they did, they catch it when they tested their work with a volt meter.

Believe it or not it’s not that uncommon to have an electrician miss-wire a 14-50R. I’ve seen them wired with 3 phase on more than one occasion at commercial buildings.

I worked for a company that sold equipment that used 14-50R receptacles. In fact we supplied the receptacle and box to the customer to have their electrician install the service. I estimate 5-10% of the time, in commercial buildings, the electric was installed wrong. When customers told us the site was ready to deliver the equipment a tech would go out to verify space and electric before we would schedule equipment delivery. We would physically verify the space and put a meter on the electric to verify it before sending the equipment out.

Now a 14-50R is very common receptacle to plug in EXSEs for Electric vehicles, electricians are more likely to get it right.

A 220v breaker in your house is a double breaker where a 110 is a single breaker. I hove one hot wire one neutral and a green.

That’s true only for an RV 30 amp service.

RV 50 amp service uses a double breaker in your house panel AND in the RVs breaker box. Plus the receptacle is 4-wire, 2 hots, 1 neutral and one ground.

I still don’t know how you plugged in your 30 amp 120v RV plug into your 30 amp 240 v dryer outlet that caused you to fry your RVs converter and microwave. The RV plug physically will not fit into a dryer outlet.
