How much can add-ons “add” to resale value?

Let’s say (hypothetically) someone was selling a 2018 220RK which they paid $32k for and had another $15k in solar/lithium and other mods and upgrades installed.

What could this person, let’s call him Eduardo, expect to get for his rig?

I doubt you would recoup even half of what you invested in upgrades (solar or not) unless you got lucky and found someone who knows the value and wants the solar ability. Most look solely at what the market price is and judge the deal according to that.
That is part of the reason we left our solar portable. We can take it to the next rig. What are you eyeing for the next rig?

I know what I would ask. Look up the value of the rig on NADA (lets say about $23000 high is $25000). Figure a conservative value of the mods as of now (minimum of 1/2 cost or higher, say about $8500.00). Combine the two and ask that much - say about $30000 or $31500. That's where I would start. Those figures are retail not trade in. We sold a used TT for more than twice the book value. Then again there was a huge market at that time. Be a salesman and hype it. Actually it sounds like it's worth that anyway.

    I agree with Bob.

JCZhome recently sold their Momentum. Truck too. I believe he got fair money because of all the mod's he had done.

    Good luck, KEN

Thanks Ken. I'm pretty sure we can get 35 for it, especially with all the interest in solar these days.
Not in a hurry though, probably wait till next year, depends on how some things pan out for us over the next 6 months or so.
If I end up removing the solar I'll let you have first crack at the components, including the lithium batteries.

Not sure. We’re going to hang out in the Cottonwood/Sedona area for a few months and possibly buy some acreage here, love it so far.
