Okay, now your job is to find a way to measure the true capacity of the fresh water tank because rumor has it that the tank, although listed for 60 gallons, only holds about 40!!
I'll accept that challenge only because GDRV sent lots of useful information with the unit. For the 303RLS the Fresh Water tank is 54 Gal. + 6 Gal. in the water heater. I can't speak to the 40 gal. assumption though.

That's an interesting spec sheet. I was going off the specs listed on GD's website and it says 60 gallons for all their models. On a previous thread someone indicated that they (I'm assuming a GD wide issue) only fill about 2/3rds full due to how the overflow tubes are installed. Therefore, 2/3 of 60 gallons = 40 gallons. My Cougar only carried 47 gallons and we do a lot of dry camping and the 60 gallon published capacity was a huge positive for us. So, let us know

Very common to have the WH capacity included in the total FW capacity.

To clarify the fresh water tank capacity question . . .
I have measured both grey water tanks on our 303 and learned that each will hold only about 2/3 of the stated capacity. This was also confirmed on the kitchen grey tank of a 337. Best guess to date (not proven) is that this is because the vent pipes are pushed too far into the tanks.
I was just "speculating" that the water tank might not hold the stated capacity . . . if the overflow line is connected to the tank in a manner similar to the vent pipes on the holding tanks.

Okay. Does anyone know if the issue has been brought to the attention of Grand Design customer service? I mean is this an issue that can be resolved under warranty? I would sure hate for the dealer to open up the belly if they don't neew to. I speak from experience on my previous trailer.

I have discussed this with Grand Design. See details in the tech corner thread. We have a "difference of opinion" on whether the problem is the drain or the vent pipe which is inserted too far. Their advice is to take the unit back to my selling dealer . . . which I will do in the Spring. Since GD is aware of the problem, I would expect that recent builds are being more carefully checked in this area. It would be interesting for someone with a recent build to do the relatively simple test.

    Poppy,

In looking at the pictures of a new 337 at Youngsbloodrv.com, there is another one at the front of the trailer, on the right side of the front compartment. You should be in good share if that is correct.
