    Misc outlets out......

We have an assortment of outlets that aren't working, some labelled GFI, some not. Dave replaced the GFI outlet in the bathroom, but there is still no power. Outlets in kitchen work, outlets in living room don't. Fuses all look OK. Breakers have been flipped off then on. Any suggestions? Dave doesn't have a tester with him, so we can't check the breaker labelled GFI......

Dave might want to return your trailer to an authorized dealer for service. RV electrical is a little different hardware than residential, and you're covered under warranty.

Testers can be bought at Home Depot or Lowes. I misplaced mine the other day, and it's something I use all the time--as an amateur electrician.

You should have one circuit labelled GFI. The first outlet closet to the panel will be a GFI outlet with test/reset buttons on it. Other outlets will be wired downstream of this main outlet and are protected by it. If the breaker isn't tripped you may have to reset the main GFI outlet for the others downstream to work.

Another place to look when some outlets work and some don't is your shore power cord or the power post (if you are using the 50 amp cord)
This brings in separate 120V feeds on each leg. If you have the OE Furrion cord, both blue lights should be on . . . indicating correct power from the post.
Another way to check is to switch to a 30 amp power post outlet which feeds both sides of your RV panel from the same 120V source.

Ah, Rob you may be onto something......the first time we checked, only one light was on the surge protector, but Dave unplugged it and replugged it in, and we got both lights, but now one is out again. He is testing it on a different 50 amp pole now.....

The problem could also be in your 50 amp cord, if the power post(s) check out OK.
There is another thread somewhere on this Forum about replacing the Furrion power cord to solve a similar intermittent problem.

Yep, that was it! Both lights on the surge protector work on the other pole. Too far away to plug in there, unfortunately. We also discovered the 30amp side of the pole doesn't work either. PUD will be out in the morning. In the meantime, Dave switched the necessities to the "hot"side of the breaker box, so we're good for today........always an adventure!! Thanks for everyone's help - this is a great group

Glad to hear that the root cause has been found . . . and is not your RV or power cord.
BTW, if you are talking about the blue lights on the Furrion power cord, this is not surge protection, only an indication of voltage being present.

No, I was talking about our after-market surge protector that we put between the pole and the RV power cord, thanks :-)
